Dead Legs

Whew - I went on a 3-mile trail run the other day. And by trail I mean more like path, not a nicely groomed suburban trail - more like a path in the woods that has been matted down a bit by other runners/walkers. I can't tell you how many roots, twigs, and stumps I kicked over tripped on over that 3-mile period, but never having really 'run' on a trail before, my guess is all of that 'tripping' and rebalancing is what is causing this fatigue. Hmmmmmm, could also be the extreme lack of rest as well - my eye is twitching like crazy which is usually a pretty good indicator for me that I need more sleep. By the way, I will actually get final word from the Provost regarding her decision about my tenure application by April 21, not May 21 - so I will not have to wait nearly as long as I thought ............hope that's a good thing! :)

Keeping my fingers crossed on your tenure.

Dirt just really sucks up all the rebound spring. I sometimes run on a trail that changes from dirt to paved - when I hit the asphalt, I feel like I'm taking flight.

This tenure process sure has been long! Good luck, I'm sure it will go well.
